Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow
Rathdrum is a busy, thriving centre set in a veritable Eden. The town itself stands high on the western
slopes of the Avonmore Valley. The Abhainn Mhor, or Great River, sweeps by, rushing to join its sister, the
Abhainn Beg, at the Meeting of the Waters three miles to the south to become the Avoca River.
Just south of Rathdrum lies Avondale, a wonderful 550 acre estate owned by the State, with its house,
arboretum garden and parklands. Within Rathdrum the Parnell National Memorial Park contains walks,
ponds and streams, making it a restful haven from the everyday bustle of the town.
For the more actively inclined the Clara Lara Funpark is an unique outdoor adventure park. At Greenan
Farm, Museum and Maze visitors will discover a full size Celtic hedge maze, a new solstice maze, three
extensive farm museums, farm animals, nature walk, tea room and craft shop.
A couple of miles to the north why not visit Laragh and the stunning Glendalough National Park or you
can wind through back roads to the hidden Devil’s Glen. Close by, too, is Whaley Abbey, residence
of the renowned Buck Whaley who won a famous bet by walking to Jerusalem and back within two
years.
There truly is a house for everyone, from imposing four bedroom detached homes, many with garages,
to well proportioned two and three bedroom semi-detached homes and town houses. These homes
are modern and stylish, yet in perfect keeping with their rural location, offering every convenience you
expect today.
The homes are highly energy efficient and finished to high quality standards and specifications throughout.
The generous gardens are provided raked and seeded.
Above all, at Viewmount you’ll discover elegance and creativity combined with practicality. As you’d
expect from the country’s largest and longest established home builder, the emphasis on quality is without
compromise. We have been in the business of building for people for almost 100 years and we bring
the same painstaking attention to doing it right today as our founder, Thomas McInerney, did when he
built his first home all those years ago.
