Roganstown, Swords, Co. Dublin
A haven of peace and tranquillity
For many generations the McLaughlin family
have enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of the
Roganstown Estate, with its rolling countryside,
its sheltering woods and its babbling brooks.
Determined to protect this legacy for generations
to come, in partnership with McInerney Homes,
the family is now developing this jewel in the
crown of North County Dublin into a worldclass
luxury Golf and Country Club.
This ambitious €40 million project is well
advanced. The 52 bedroom luxury hotel, based on
the historic Roganstown House, is on schedule
to open in 2004. It will be followed by the Leisure
Club in March and a new 7,000 yard Christy O’Connor
Jnr. designed classic golf course next April or
May.
A Golfer's Heaven
The new golf course has a strong emphasis on water
features. The Broadmeadow river flows beside the
course and water comes into play on all but six
holes. To complement existing woodland, over 12,000
trees have been planted. The course is of exceptional
quality and it is expected, therefore, that there
will be strong demand for superb golfing facilities
so convenient to Dublin City. The Golf Club will
have its own separate reception area within the
hotel complex as well as changing facilities,
golf Pro shop and members’ bar.
Hotel
Roganstown Hotel cleverly incorporates the best
of modern design while retaining the charm and
elegance of the period house at its centre. In
addition to 52 luxury bedrooms, it will provide
guests with exceptional bar and dining facilities.
There is restaurant seating up to 120 guests,
resident and Club Members’ bars over three
rooms plus a public hotel bar. There are also
highly flexible conference and banqueting facilities,
catering for up to 300 guests.
Advice on the operation of the hotel is being
provided by consultant Stephen Quinn, a highly
experienced manager in his own right who has worked
in some of the finest hotels in Ireland and the
United States, including Adare Manor Hotel &
Country Club. The Leisure Club features a 16 metre
indoor swimming pool, gym and health & beauty
spa (with six treatment rooms, including spa,
steam room and sauna). Use of these facilities
will be restricted to members of the Leisure Club
and guests staying at the hotel.
Homes of distinction
There are four different styles of home, each
with its own distinctive character. All come with
double garage and conservatory as standard and
many enjoy wonderful views over the new golf course.
These elegant and spacious homes are as visually
appealing inside as they are from the outside.
Step into the hall and you enter a world of true
peace and quiet. You’ll be impressed by
the airiness and brightness of each home. These
are living areas with the true emphasis on the
word "living" – from dining areas
with space for all your family and friends to
kitchens in which you can picture yourself taking
time to prepare elegant meals for special guests.
Even the entrance halls merit the name, for these
are not mere hallways to be passed through, but
rooms to be enjoyed for themselves. The spacious
living areas, including formal dining for those
special occasions, the double doors and the large
sitting room for moments of true relaxation, all
are evocative of an era of more elegant living
in this peaceful environment.
Upstairs you’ll find the same attention
to detail and the same sense of spaciousness.
There are built in wardrobes and every convenience
you could wish for, including excellent en suite
facilities. Built by McInerney, the quality of
finish is superb. But then, that’s perhaps
the least surprising thing about these homes.
With over 90 years experience behind them McInerney
knows more than a thing or two about what it takes
to please and excite customers.
Rest peacefully at night in this rural setting
and when you rise each morning you’ll have
views out over the quiet countryside. You may
well find yourself casting a glance or two out
over the golf course and reminding yourself what’s
in store for the weekend!
