Hansted
Finnstown, Lucan, Co. Dublin
Looking for that really extra special home? One of exceptional design in a highly desirable, mature location? Relax, your search is over! You’ve arrived – and in more ways than one – at Hansted, Lucan.
Travel west up the River Liffey from O’Connell Bridge in Dublin’s City Centre and after nine miles you’ll arrive at Lucan, which has long been famed for the beauty of its situation. The very name, Leamhcán in Gaelic, tells you what to expect: the “place of the elms”. And in the 18th century Lucan was also famous for its sulphur spa, which was thought to have healing properties.
Today Lucan’s superb location, beside the tree lined River Liffey parkway and some of the finest inland scenery in the metropolitan county, has healing properties of its very own. And Hansted, situated on the Newcastle Road right beside the Finnstown Country House Hotel, is itself in one of Lucan’s most attractive locations – a jewel within a crown, as it were.
Lucan retains all the charm of yesteryear. In the centre of the village there is small public park through which runs the Griffeen River on its way down to the Liffey.
