With its charming winding streets, long waterfront and even longer history, Kinsale is one of the most picturesque and justifiably popular resorts on the south-west coast.

It is a town which has a vibrant community with a wide choice of lively pubs and quality hotels and restaurants. The town and its surrounding area boast many small craft shops and traditional craft workers. Kinsale is well served with national and secondary schools. The Orchards is right beside Kinsale’s VEC. Close by, Cork City provides third level education at Cork Institute of Technology and Cork University.

For the sports enthusiast it is a top class centre for sailing and other watersports. Kinsale’s Yacht Club is extremely active and the Outdoor Education Centre offers courses in sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and even rock climbing. Golfers have the choice of three golf courses, including the world-famous Old Head course.

Field sports are well-represented with horseriding, claybird shooting and archery all available close to the town. Kinsale has its own junior GAA Club and since 1988 the town has hosted the Heineken Sevens by the Sea international rugby festival.
